Warrior and Carbon

The other morning Warrior and Carbon were looking all innocent, and then were playing with each other. I just happened to have the camera with me that morning. Carbon sure is growing too, he is just about as big as Warrior. He will be 2 on April 15th.

Update: A Little Money Talks

Here are some updated pictures of the colt from this year. His registered name will be (pending) A Little Money Talks. He is growing up fast! His barn name is still Copper, although you can see he has changed from the bright copper color he was born to a deeper chestnut. I like his chrome!

Volunteering with the Humane Society

Last night was the meeting for Friends of the Humane Society. I went to it, because I have decided to become more involved this year. I want to help, and I can only have so many animals... I do enjoy fostering dogs, having had two fosters last year I look forward to Spring so I can get another one. I am pretty good at finding homes that are a good fit, and it helps the dog so they don't have to live in the stressful environment at the shelter. In the past I have attended different DCHS events and sold candles, donating part of each sale to them. I will be able attending several events again this year, including the upcoming Fish & Chicken Dinner on March 20th. There will be a raffle at that event too, for which I am currently selling raffle tickets for -- please email me to let me know if you would support the DCHS by purchasing some. They are only $1 each or 6 for $5, and you need not be present to win. There are several prizes, with the largest one being a Coleman Powermate Maxa 5000 ER portable generator valued at $1000.
The other interesting way I am getting involved, is I have committed to volunteer at the monthly Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinics. Usually held the third Thursday of each month, it is an affordable way to help control animal population. I will be able to provide more insight after I attend a clinic, but I am excited about the opportunity to learn more and help the animals. Check back for details after I've done it! The first one is tomorrow.
I know I have been terrible about keeping this up to date, but I am going to try harder!
Hurry Spring........
